A simple noniterative method to accurately calculate the centroid of an interval type‐2 fuzzy set

An interval type-2 fuzzy set (IT2FS) contains the infinite number of embedded membership functions (MFs) defined as type-1 sets. The center gravity (COG) an IT2FS is obtained by integrating centroids all these MFs. However, obtaining COG in a continuous domain impossible because MFs and, discrete domain, comes with exponential time complexity. Therefore, different algorithms were proposed to find (COCs) instead COG. These do not necessarily obtain exact value COC; they compete more accurate result less time. In this study, we propose simple noniterative method IT2FSs. This only considers which form boundary values, that is, lower MF (LMF) and upper (UMF), obtains their separately.
